The Galt Horticultural Society was founded in c.1895 and has met regularly throughout the last century. The Society has always been involved with community endeavors such as flowerbeds, and has had the historic Ferguson Cottage c1837 as its headquarters. The Society conducts community workshops, seminars, annual garden conference, annual perennial plant sale, 10 monthly meetings with garden speakers, 26 garden tours in the summer, and art exhibitions. We have a one acre garden surrounding the Ferguson Cottage that is also a teaching garden and a 5 acre arboretum
